Deratisation
Rodent control – measures aimed at shaping the environment in such a way that it does not favour the appearance of rodents. In addition to the control of all harmful rodents by means of chemical, physical or biological means, rodent control also includes preventive, monitoring or corrective measures concerning the appearance of mice and rats in particular. We use integrated methods to combat rodents.
Methods of rat and mouse control – how to get rid of rats and mice?
Rodent control can be carried out using various methods, the following are distinguished:
- preventive (sanitary methods, rat-proofing);
- interventional (physical, chemical, biological methods).
Rat extermination – Preventive methods
The first of these, preventive methods, means preventing or minimising the entry of pests into a given area (house, flat, company, etc.) and preventing their reproduction. The sanitary pest control service should be carried out by restricting the access of mice and rats to the essentials for their survival: food, water and hiding places. In this way, we will reduce the number of pests in a given area. Please make sure that waste is disposed of in sealed containers and that no leftover products are left lying around. It is also important to remove potential hiding places for unwanted animals such as mice and rats, e.g. woodpiles near the building or dense vegetation.
Rodent control – intervention methods
Rodent control – physical methods
Physical methods involve various measures that must be taken to effectively control mice and rats. The key is to determine the extent of the mouse and rat infestation.
After the pest control company has carried out the rodent control service, monitoring must be carried out to ensure that the rodent control measures are fully effective. After sealing the company premises, i.e. all cracks and holes, the installation of rodent monitoring and control devices should be started. It is important to secure the rat traps by attaching warning labels to the devices, fixing the devices to the ground, and locking them to ensure the safety of people and pets.
Andrzej Panfil’s pest control company uses professional equipment such as:
- rat and mouse bait stations,
- live traps,
- mechanical traps,
- electric traps,
- glue traps.
Pest control – chemical methods
Chemical methods are also used, in which chemical rat and mouse poison is used. Rodents ingest these agents and render them harmless through the digestive tract. We use rodenticides in the form of soft poisons, granules, liquid or poisoned grain. These are so-called first and second generation anticoagulants. The former cause poisoning after several intakes, while the latter are chronic poisons (with a delayed effect) and are poisonous to rodents after a single intake. The poison used must have a marketing authorisation for the biocidal product in question.
We prepare and approach each property individually.
Biological pest control
Biological pest control means getting rid of rodents by our pets! Natural enemies: cats and dogs are a good solution, but often ineffective. Pets are not always able to reduce the number of rodents.
Damage caused by rodents
The presence of rodents on your property is a health hazard! Mice and rats spread many diseases such as schistosomiasis, typhus, salmonella, leptospirosis, trichinosis, toxoplasmosis, rat fever and rickettsial pox.
Rats and mice are very dangerous pests, not only because of the spread of diseases, but also because of the financial losses they generate (e.g. chewing through electrical installations, destroying stored food). Rodent control is therefore crucial.
Entrust the rodent control to a professional rodent control company and they will get rid of the unwanted rodents!
